Chestnut Ridge Farmstay B&B

A quiet rural weekend away. Just relax and enjoy.

Chestnut Ridge Farmstay has large gardens and, being on a ridge, has extensive views over the gardens, orchard, farmland, Whangamarino Wetlands, Lake Waikare, surrounding hills and Te Kauwhata township.

Our small 6 ha farm/orchard has around 400 mature chestnut trees and we run a few ewes and lambs, a few cows and calves and chickens. Guests are welcome to wander around.

The accommodation is flexible:

The Super-King room can either have a massive super-king bed or two king-single beds. This room has an en suite including a spa bath with shower over. TV, radio and tea/coffee making facilities are also included.

The Queen room has a queen bed. It is next to the bathroom/toilet which is shared with the hosts at present (guests take priority). The room has TV, radio and a small desk and library of interesting books.

Both rooms have a single trundle bed and exterior doors so that you can come and go as you please. Garage parking is available.

Continental breakfast is included in the tariff and can be upgraded to a full cooked breakfast for a small extra cost.

A three course dinner (nibbles and a drink before, main course with a glass of wine, dessert and tea/coffee) is available for an extra charge if notified in advance.

Close by are Te Kauwhata township, Rangiriri historic site, Whangamarino Wetlands, Lake Waikare, Cooks Landing, the beautiful Waikare golf course and Hampton Downs Motorsport Park. Miranda Bird Sanctuary and Hot Pools are only 40 minutes drive away.
